Look at the nutritional labels on some of your favorite foods and you’re likely to see a new line item: trans fat. Trans fats are the hydrogenated oils contained in thousands of processed foods—and they may be worse for you than saturated fat. Robert Zelis, M.D., is a cardiologist and director of the Lipid Clinic at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
